South Asian music in North America has come a long way since the 80s. That is the vision Sarbjit Saroya had when he launched a small project to produce a local artist back in 1989. A project so small evolved into one of the leading sources to produce, market and distribute South Asian music and media overseas; later titled Planet Recordz Inc.Planet Recordz now has its headquarters in Toronto, Canada with local branches in the U.K. and India has produced several artists in both
North America and abroad.
With music styles ranging from bhangra with fusion and garage to traditional pumping sounds of the Dhol to the laid back maestros of the ghazals, the catalogue offers a variety of albums to satisfy just about everyone's cravings.

In 2002, Planet Recordz also joined hands with Silver Planet Studios, a post production house which later merged as a dedicated video and post division of Planet Recordz. The studio now offers complete post production facilities for video and media editing, dvd authoring and newMedia, graphics/motion design, packaging and fulfillment services.
